. For domestic travel, check in at least 60 minutes before your scheduled departure time if you are not checking baggage; 90 minutes before if you are checking baggage. For Hawaii and international travel, please check in at least 2 hours before your scheduled departure time.

If you have baggage to check, you can still save time using Web Check-In and accessing ATA's Self-Service Kiosk at most airports to expedite tagging your bags. Curbside check-in is also available at most airports.

IMPORTANT CUSTOMER INFORMATION - CONDITIONS OF CONTRACT

Check in at least 60 minutes before your scheduled departure time if you are not checking baggage; 90 minutes if you are checking baggage for all domestic flights and 2 hours prior to scheduled departure time for flights to/from Hawaii and all international flights. If you are traveling on a codeshare flight (designated on your itinerary with flight numbers 1-3999), be sure to check in with the airline that is operating the flight.

You must be present in your boarding gate area 20 minutes before scheduled departure for all domestic flights, even if you have already checked in at another designated location (30 minutes for international and Hawaii flights). If you are not in your gate area 20/30 minutes before departure, your reservation and pre-reserved seats are subject to cancellation. You will also be ineligible for denied boarding compensation.

Fare Rules, which may be reviewed during the booking process or by contacting ATA's Reservations Center, contain information regarding restrictions and refundability of each specific fare. Customer-initiated changes to non-refundable tickets are subject to a per-ticket administrative fee of $60 USD for continental U.S. travel and $100 USD for Hawaii and International travel. In addition, if there is a difference between the price of the old ticket and the new ticket, the customer is responsible for paying the increase in fare. Changes to fully refundable tickets are charged for any applicable fare difference, but the administrative fee is waived.  A wholly unused ticket for transportation on ATA is valid for, and travel must be completed, 12 months from the date of issuance of the ticket.

Name changes on a purchased ticket are not allowed. A government-issued photo ID is required for flight check-in. Valid travel documents, such as a passport or visa, may be required for international flights. Visit "International Documentation" on ata.com for more details.

Your travel is subject to ATA's baggage liability limitation and other rules that are part of ATA's Contract of Carriage, posted in the Traveler Resources section of ata.com. In addition, do not transport the following in checked baggage: Valuables or irreplaceable articles such as camera/electronic/video equipment and/or accessories, computers/laptops, compact discs, cellular phones, jewelry, currency, keys, medication/prescriptions, eyeglasses/contacts, securities, legal and/or business documents, samples, furs, artwork, high-value and/or fragile items, books, etc., as ATA assumes no liability for these items on domestic flights. These and similar items should be transported in carry-on baggage.

All checked baggage is screened by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). In some cases, screeners will have to open your baggage as part of the screening process. If your bag is unlocked, the TSA will open and screen the baggage. However, if your checked baggage is locked and TSA cannot open it through other means, the locks may have to be broken. TSA is not liable for damage caused to locked bags that must be opened for security purposes. You can find further information at www.tsa.us, the TSA website.
